Introduction
So I got back into the Warhammer 40,000 universe at the start of 2024. I was off work due to poor mental health and treated myself to the then new 10th edition 40k starter set. I’d last played 40k back in about 2003 during 4th edition. I love worldbuilding, I do a lot of creative writing and as well as just painting miniatures (badly) I love coming up with backgrounds for miniatures, what regiment or chapter they’re in, certain characters and so on. So I wasn’t a huge fan of the move away from narrative play towards the focus on balance and competitive play. I never actually got around to playing 40k. I liked the narrative element of Kill Team and soon got into that. Kill Team also got me working on little kitbash projects. That combined with my lack of focus (thanks ADHD) means rather than one big army, I’ve got a whole bunch of skirmish level forces.
